We all love free things, right? I'm no exception. My day job had a dinner for all of us at a fancy-smancy restaurant close to our work. Free appetizers, free dinner, AND an open bar. We had 3 different appetizers to chose from, laid out buffet style: bruschetta, shrimp, and steak tips. Dinner was a choice of Sirloin, Fish, or Pasta. I most definitely should have gotten the fish but chose the sirloin instead because, who doesn't love a good steak?! I was entirely disappointed though. I ordered my steak medium and another co-worker ordered hers well-done. We both got the opposite but we were okay with that so didn't have them change it up. BOTH our steaks were incredibly tough. I expected mine to be since it came out well-done. Hers was still bleeding though and still you needed a saw to cut it up. That was the disappointment. Ah, well. It was such a great evening though with my co-workers. We laughed until my cheeks hurt.
So, what's a free dinner got to do with planking you ask. Well, nothing really other than they are both free. What I do hope though is that you'll give the 7 Day Plank Challenge a chance and do it with friends. Have fun with it! Laugh until your cheek hurts and get stronger in the process!
Why?
Because I love helping people and see them succeed. I love seeing people work on themselves. I do have another reason though. January is coming and that means New Year Resolutions. That means people either becoming friends with the gym for the first time or giving it their 53rd try. Either way, it's when a lot of injuries happen because people go balls to the wall with it, giving it their all. I get it. You're determined. You want to make a change in your life and I am so very proud of you for that.
But.
You're weak. Physically. You're putting your body through something new most likely and that means injuries. I don't want to see you get injured and give up on yourself and your health. A plank Challenge can help with that.
How?
We'll be working on proper plank form and 7 different plank exercises throughout the 7 days. I want your core to be nice and strong when you begin your new gym routine come January. Having a stronger core means less chance of injuries. Injuries can still happen but you'll lessen the chances by having a strong core. Strong core and strong back. Strong body. Strong mind.
When?
Mid-December is when we'll begin. I'm still working out all the details and finishing up the plan. We'll begin on a Monday and end on a Sunday. I'll have a new video for you each morning explaining the Plank of the day and proper movement for it.
Who?
Everyone and anyone is invited! Whether your a complete newbie to this fitness world or workout on the daily. Everyone can benefit from learning something new. We'll begin with a beginner plank though and end with more challenging planks. The goal is to learn how to be in proper plank form so that you do them correctly. It doesn't matter if you can hold your plank for 5 minutes if your form is crappy. Crappy means injuries.
Quality beats quantity every. single. day.
So. Are you up for the challenge?
Come back often for details. I'll have a sign-up page soon or you can leave a comment and I'll be sure to send you the sign-up details when it's available.
Let's do this together and have some fun with it!
